Work, work and work

So it is a new year and with it a new adventure. 2010 has started off with a jolt but it is a good thing. I went through four days of mind numbing orientation followed by 36 modules that had tests with them that had to be completed with 100% correctness.
WHAT!
So needless to say that I have been pushing my mind to the max. Then it was on to my first shift on the floor for 12 hours. I ran my but off, going from one end of the floor to the other and back again more times then I could count - more times because I got turned around and forgot where the stock room was. We had a patient expire and one vomit for over an hour that needed a total bath and bed change. It was a rush and I came home exhausted but thrilled to finally be doing something that I really wanted to be doing.
So needless to say that time is limited and so I might be able to visit here once in a while but know that I miss all my bloggy friends and hope for you all the best this year.
This is a prosperous time for you, was what my fortune cookie said and I am gonna run with it.

I'll excuse your absence....for now. :) Just kidding. I'm so glad you've got a job and that you are liking it. Hope all is well!

Wow that sounds like a fun whirlwind of a new week at work. Glad you have a job that you enjoy and have enough energy to make it home at night :)
Good luck with your upcoming shifts-it'll get easier, I promise :)
Let your husband know Paul is willing to talk more about counseling if he'd like, just call :O)

how sad that one of the patients died. I imagine that would always be so hard.

So does the vomit smell not make you gag? I remember a CNA cleaning me up after many hemorrhages (when I was trying to stay pregnant and in the hospital) and I wondered if nothing grossed her out after all she sees and does. lol

Hang in there lady!! You are such a hard worker. I am proud of how you do what you need to do for your family, and you are so compassionate to do the kind of work you do :).
