A very creative day.......

"Drama Queen" is very creative.
She makes darling little hats, bags, things that I never would have done at the tender age of 10.
She started out by wanting to make a tent for her dinosaur and instead began measuring "Sweet-boy" for a shirt. She measured and cut, pinned and measured and then began the slow and arduous chore of hand stitching the entire shirt together. After it's completion she ensured that like all great "t-shirts" that it had a great saying across the front.
What better than "I (heart) me!" a good saying for the "sweet-boy".

The rest of the day the new shirt was proudly worn till it was time to swim. I love seeing this glimpse into all the possibilities of what my daughter might become; a designer, a seamstress, a craft store owner, all of which I think that she will be incredible at. But, mostly I see how much she delights in doing things to make others happy.

That is what I am most proud of!

Serioulsy, that is a great talent she has! I can't even sew a shirt and certainly not without a pattern. I love that you are encouraging her.

WOW! This is so like me as a little girl. I made clothes for my dolls, hairbows, rugs, everything I could get my hands on. What a good momma to let her try. Art is such a lost thing these days, people forget how to be creative and take the easy way out all too often!

I would LOVE a shirt like that in my size! Really--that is just PRICELESS! My little brother sewed me a purse once. Out of camo material. Now it may even be fashionable!

Thanks for sharing the photos of such happy little faces. What a great future we all have to look forward to with so many amazing kids in the world!

Thank you for your comment on my blog. This is a fun way to expand my circle of friends. You have darling children. And I can't believe what your 10 year old can do.

I remember making Barbie clothes. Really we just used to cut a "v" in the middle of a piece of fabric folded in half. This was the neck hole. Then, we'd put that over our doll's head and tie a ribbon around the waist and- ta-da a dress! We even got fancy one day and put some lace around the edge... Yeah, those were the days!
